Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Our debut album "The Bleakness" will be released via Bastardized Recordings on 24th April 2015. It is a Post-Metal record anchored in melody with equal measures of Black Metal and Hardcore influences. This mixture creates a melancholic and oppressive ambiance which changes between blastbeats, mid-tempo parts and clean riffs. We are very pleased with the final outcome.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
All our bandmembers have different musical backgrounds, so our muscial influences are quite various and reach from Pop to Black Metal. As "headbangerreviews" already mentioned in a review about our new record "The Bleakness" our music is a little different than your everyday metal. Overall it's comparable to other Post Metal Bands like Devil Sold His Soul, Cult of Luna or Pelican. But you should find out for yourself and give it a try. You can get your first impression with our music video to the song "Avoid The Light".
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
We recorded in our hometown Würzburg with our friend and producer Nikita Kamprad (Der Weg Einer Freiheit). The recording sessions were just the standard procedure, but we got a special Guest Vocal Feature from Nikita Kamprad and David Schneiker from "Bait" on the album.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The pictures for our whole booklet/cover artwork were made by a good friend of us, Markus Kemmer from Ghosttree Photos. All the photos were made in the area of our hometown and fit perfectly to our depressing sound. Shortly after Markus took the photo for the frontcover the trees were cut to built a motorway. Regarding the lyrics: Most of the time the lyrics deal with personal experiences and disappointments. In combination with the music this creates a melancholic and oppressive ambiance.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We hope to reach more people through this release. Right now we are working on more shows to promote our debut record.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats?
The record is offered in digital format and as a CD so far.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
We will promote the new release with a second music video which will give you a closer look into the recording process. Of course we will post it at all our social media pages and we will try to play as much shows as possible.
