Two new full-length albums from Astro and his project A.S.U., and this one here is the first of them, a 6 tracks effort clocking no less than 73 minutes, with one of the tracks spanning over 24 minutes of playing time! We get again a mix of Ambient and Raw Black Metal, a combination of calm and warm passages (although built on razor sharp, abrasive sounding guitars) and very raw, unpolished mid-tempo to fast paced Black Metal that might tickle the purists the right way. What I can say is that although there are no particular elements to stand out during the audition, this new album presents itself as nice-flowing, catchy at times, somehow comforting despite its rough nature, so from my point of view this is a winner, I have played it a couple of times and I can't say I'm bored in any way. I believe A.S.U. might get a wider audience if Astro decides to work with a label next time, and his music would really deserve it, a pure underground material that would deserve more attention from fans of Atmospheric, Ambient, Melancholic, and Raw types of Black Metal.
