Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
"We're all longtime friends and fellow musicians. Over the past 15 years, we've performed and collaborated with one another in home sessions, and while sharing the stage as two separate bands. As time went on, and life changes demanded new paths, Nate and Preston decided to join forces with Michael & Justin's existing band. Shortly after, vocalist Dave (who formerly performed with Nate and Preston) got in on the fun. Realizing our newly influenced writing styles were birthing a new animal, we decided to represent ourselves as 'Ascentia.'"

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
"Adventurous, be it from song to song, or within a single piece. Exploring the energy of multiple genres has always been ingrained in our writing process, though, we do tend to gravitate towards metal. Our influences include but are not limited to Dream Theater, Opeth, Mastodon, Clutch, Katatonia, and Strapping Young Lad."

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
"Check us out for a unique sound with a classic feel. We get heavy, and we groove, always looking for a new vibe to explore."

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
"We're currently promoting our first & new EP 'Pathways'. This was our first attempt at a home recorded release, and we've learned a lot along the way. We've had great feedback, even with novice production, and through constructive critique and a studio upgrade, we've discovered new methods & abilities, and are excited about future projects."

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
"We do love to perform. Audiences and fellow musicians have welcomed us everywhere we've been, and we are grateful for the opportunity to present our music in a live setting."

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
"Heart is what you'll find in our music and performance. We have a lot of love for the genuine feel our music brings us, and we aspire to share that with others."

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
"We are looking forward to reaching new audiences and sharing the stage with some cool artist. We're currently writing and recording material for our first LP as well."

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
"Our EP 'Pathways' is available for download/stream on Bandcamp, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Prime, and Spotify."
