Greetings! BlackSeed Productions was created back in 2003 by Luarth and Alhaz in Madrid (Spain) as a Death & Black Metal label and mailorder service.

What are the most important features you look for in a band that is or has the chance to be signed on your label?
We both are old Black & Death metal maniacs, so in first place, we both must enjoy the music of the band. Then we look for serious and honest people, bands knowing what they are dealing with. In most cases we know the band members personally so it helps a lot. All serious bands can submit their promo material for consideration but in most cases we are the ones who approah the bands we think they fit in a label like BSP.
How can a band get in touch with you? What should bands know before submitting their promos for your consideration?
They can contact by e-mail at info@blackseedprod.com better than sending any promo material directly, anyway they should know that it's not easy to get a deal with BSP. As I told in previous question, in most cases we are contacting the bands directly when we find them interesting enough. We know our limitations so we prefer to concentrate in very few releases and put the best of us on these than doing a lot of senseless releases.
What's the most important thing in the relationship between you and your bands? What is your label offering to its bands?Honesty. In most cases we try to met the band members in person, and talk about the conditions of the release. Not all bands and releases need the same at any point. We prefer to deal individually with each band and try to reach a point when we both feel confortable. We offer a honest and serious work, we do not promise anything we can not reach later, and so we expect the same from the bands. We all have heard about bad relations between bands and labels but I doubt you can heard any bad word from any band taht worked with us. Actually we are putting much effort in promotion as we think we can work harder in this point.
Is there anything you planned with your label and has not yet been completed?
Not really, just maybe some bands we contacted and tried to release under the BSP sign but it finally didn't work.
How does the future looks for your label? Any major projects you would like to share with us?
Well, as you should heard from any label you ask this same question in Europe (and Spain for worst), these are difficult time due to crisis. Sales have gone drastically down during the last years and things does not look any bright in a near future... Anyway since BSP is more a personal realisation than any business thing, we will keep working hard and releasing bands and albums we feel they deserve all support. As future plans, we should be doing the new DECAYED album before this 2012 year ends, and later the new INTHYFLESH album, a fantastic Portuguese band!
