Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Blindvei is the debut release from Blerthrung, a 2 piece black metal band from Melbourne, Australia. It is a full length album. The record presents harsh, cold, depressive black metal broken up with mood laden interludes. The tracks showcase a variety of songwriting methods which offers enough musical variety to create an engaging and rewarding listen. As our first release we are very happy to have created a very "complete" record.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Influences for this record are varied however we describe it to be a blend of depressive and 2nd wave black metal. People who enjoy acts such as Thy Light, Burzum, Faustcoven or Emperor might enjoy this album.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The band logo and cover art were both created by Dikotomist. Most of the lyrics focus on themes such as mans destruction of the natural world and the old world. Lyrics also cover issues such as depression, isolation, and general emotional decay. The contrast between the lush trees growing in the background, the dying lone tree in the foreground and the empty space seperating them, symbolise a few of the overriding themes of the album.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
Our aims are simply to write and release black metal music which shows a broad range of influences while maintaining the cold atmosphere which makes the genre great. Over the next 12 months we hope to release another full length album and possibly do a split release if an appropriate opportinity arises.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
Blindvei is available as a "pay as you feel" download, on CD and soon on a limited edition casstte tape.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
We do not have a budget for promotion so we're relying on the kind services of webzines such as Pest to give us a little exposure. A number of small underground distribution labels have also helped us out by adding our CD to their circulation list, for which we are very grateful.

Where can we order it from?
Blindvei, along with our merch can be downloaded or ordered on CD and Tape from our Bandcamp page:
