Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Hailz to Pestwebzine, at first some words about the composing:
All songs on this release were composed before the songs on the split cd. We had the intention to set the dark side of middle-earth, or rather the opus of tolkien, in music. The famoust band in Tolkien Black Metal szene is "Summoning", in reality. But wouldn't sound like them. We wanted to create a darker atmosphere. Less harmony, more evil, still epic.
The first track "Duath" (english tanslation: shadow; german: Schatten) should prepare you for nightfall. "Burz" (englisch: dark/swart; german: dunkel) tells you something about the inscription of the One Ring and the concomitant threat.
The next song "Und es ward Winter..." is a slow sluggish song in cold atmosphere. These are some examples, what awaits you.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
I would describe the music as black metal with epic and melodic influences. It sounds like something you never heard before...
Unless you have listen to summoning.
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
We recorded the album at the "Endzeit Studios". It's the home-studio of our label "Dominance of Darkness". All in all, we needed a week to record it.
For this release we wanted a darker sound than our last one on the split cd. And I think, the studio was very succesful. You can hear each instrument. It sounds great.
Stories from the recording? Yes it exists a lot of them. Very funny stories about misheard lyrics etc. But, that would go beyond the scope...
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover artwork was designed by "misanthropic arts". There you can see the witch-king ahead his castle "Carn Dûm" at the end of the misty mountains in the realm of Angmar.
How I said before: We set the darkside of Tolkien's Works in music. So the lyrics tell about stories of the three ages of Arda. Just call it "art".
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
In general, I expect a bit more passion at our gigs. We have great fans, but I wish that our fanbase will still grow, our concerts will grow and espacially the atmosphere will further grow.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
No, there is only one CD limited on 500 pieces , maybe we can manage this by our next release ;-)
Where and how will you promote this new release?
Tha Album get promoted on YouTube (Label and Band Chanel), it got published on several webzines and metal forum all around the german and english spoken metal world . In future one song should be on a compilation of the german A-Blaze Magazin. I Hope, that Pest Webzine will promote the album, too .
