Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Felipe Huerta: This is our second album called ‘’Under Bio-lence’’. I think it is better than first one, "Social Disorder", also very strong, intense, brutal, and with much speed. As for the speech we want to keep expressing the abuses that occur here, with songs like "Structural Violence" where we try expressing our angry about pollution problems, and few interest that our authorities have. "Your Speech" talks about "truth social media" much people comment on Facebook and others media, without ideas to find a solution, we often see their views defensively with violence, without reaching agreements while "our nice politicians" sit at the table to plan collusion, violations of basic human rights, seeking to profit off from us, the normal citizens. "Centuries of Abuse" it is probably faster song representeduntil the present. "They take our gold" not only from the standpoint of natural resources and environmental disasters all that entails, if not also in the cultural context related to the religious invasion and the disappearance of our native beliefs. "Legal Emptiness" talks about the political use: business to enrich the few, who doesn’t care about the real development of a just society. "Public Privacy" talks about government policy call Intercept, passwords, where is the right to privacy? among others. Well I think we are really satisficed until now, I hope this work will enjoy it.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Felipe Huerta : Well here have a classical piece of Thrash Metal mix with Hardcore, Crossover or whatever you want to name it. This kind of music born en first 80`s and has been kept alive thanks to the new generation of Thrashers, and many people don't see the important feedback this brings to new bands, because only hear to "The big 4 " and say: “ok, a new band”, this is Slayer, Kreator, Sodom, many times so is, denying themselves the opportunity to hear new music, There will always be feeding back musical influences that will continue to keep alive Thrash Metal
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Felipe Huerta : We recorded the album early February 2015 in River Audio studios, Arica. February is summer here, you can imagine how hot was the room sessions record. The album was produced by Sebastian Puente (Nuclear) Producer Engineer who's worked first album too. Unlike the first recording, Sebastian traveled to Arica to record and mix, then, he worked the post production in Audiocustom studios in Santiago de Chile, finally the material was mastered by Cristian Olivares (Lefutray) in the same studio.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
Felipe Huerta: The cover artwork was made by Andrei Bouzikov an artist from Bielorrusia, he made the cover artwork with bands like Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocaust, and first step was send email asking his work methodology. After that we accepted and agreed. Then, we send email with a sketch and ideas, well finally Andrei sent us this Mad Scientist that work in a cold laboratory making horrible biological weapons that will can destroy humanity.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
Felipe Huerta: We had a good reception of our first album, by the specialized press and by Bangers, Thrashers and metal maniacs too. Now, we want to reach as many people possible through our music on stage, plataforms, formats, etc. We know that things come true when you work hard, and we are planningour next step, you’ll find out soon.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
Felipe Huerta: Sickbangers label and distro is a chilean extreme music label. They printed about 500 copies on CD - Pro format, too They said that "Under Bio-lence" will also available to download it via Spotify, Deezer, iTunes, Amazon Music, and other digital platforms.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
Felipe Huerta: We will make official release show here in Arica on December 5th, we want to repeat the experience with the first release where we had a good reception by local Metalheads 3 years ago. Many copies were sold and we think that same will occur. Tools like social media are a good way show our extreme music, we learn day by day about social media and we use them better than past, it is an easy way to contact with people that enjoy with our music, sometimes they write us, well this things do energize us for continues this hard way of extreme music.
