Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
I have no words to describe how happy I am, each new release is a new challenge both in terms of technique/recording and the emotions behind it, Premonitions is an EP that opens the last chapter of a Trilogy long time planned it is more progressive and more depressive than our previous releases and all songs have a deep personal message that I wanted to share with everyone.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
I guess some parts perhaps sounds like our previous influences like Maiden, Nightwish and C.O.B, but in my opinion we really created a stronger D.A.M identity on it, it´s melodic death metal but with a strong progressive vibe and so many different influences that the sonority is really unique, the song “Frustration” for example it begins with a “B.B King” like blues session, then comes a heavy sad melody, a black metal part, we go all the way melodic death metal and in the end we have a two part Baroque invention in the harpsichord, I don't know bands that had so many different direction in one song!
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
It was recorded at my home studio, I guess this time we faced 3 months recording, we usually record at weekends and the songs are the longest ones so it was hard and more complicated due to it and due to to the complexity of the songs. Yeah we always have a lot of fun with each other and there was a time that me and Caio the bass player decided to go out after a hard day of recordings and we drink a lot, it was late and somehow we ended in a Night club that played 70´s 80´s Funk/Soul music and we were like “ fucking yeah”, and started dancing, but actually the place was empty, we were the only two people there and when we realized that was really funny. Also our past member that recorded the guitars, Edu, we were really close, and one day I made a prank with him, I said to the girl at the bakery we usually eat some snacks that he was interested in her, he got really embarrassed with the situation hahaha, funny moments!
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
Yes, you are right, in all artworks from the Trilogy we try to put in them elements from the lyrics and from the story, you can see lots of connections in the artwork from all eps and albums, this is related to the music connection that we have in the songs, like a classical composer used to make in the XVIII century in a Sonata development section, so it´s everything connected! It´s a mix between Occultism, dark side of the mind problems in the context of the Trilogy´s story is what we released until now!
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
I really want to make popular the Classical music compositions techniques in the Heavy Metal context, it´s a journey for an entire life but this EP sure is a big step to help with that dream. We need to establish our line-up first of all, make promotion, got some licensing deals to get some money and tour to promote our work, by now it´s impossible the band to pay our bills so we want to grow as a band to at least make new recordings with money that comes from the band!
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
By now no physical copies, just MP3 and Youtube Streaming, we are giving it as a free download to promote us, when we make physical copies I shall send you guys one!!!
Where and how will you promote this new release?
We try to cover it worldwide and we have some really talented and professional PR companies around the world working to help us, we take care of our own promotion at Brazil and we will use some tools such as Adwords, Facebook etc.
