Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Band members: Jack Penders - Vocals, Daniel Doherty - Bass, Chris Winsryg - Guitar, Evan McGuigan - Drums.
The band started in 2008 as a cover band, playing the likes of Rage Against The Machine, System Of A Down etc. Through time the band changed. The two guitarists that were in the band at that time left, due to the band getting progressively heavier. Chris then entered the band and we started covering the likes of Behemoth and Decapitated. We established ourselves as a band that could pull off covers well, and played gigs throughout the country. We then started working on our own originals, which received a great live response and resulting in us getting bigger gigs in the capitol. We supported polish black metallers Christ Agony in the summer of last year. After extensive gigging the band took a break, returning in the summer of 2012 to record our first debut EP, entitled "Apotheosis". We are now currently playing shows around Ireland to promote our EP, which was released on November 24th. We are the main support for Anaal Nathrakh on Decemember 8th in Dublin.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We play blackened death metal. We like to mix the raw power and groove of death metal with the eerie atmosphere of black metal. We have powerful, grooving, dissonant riffs, thunderous, lightning quick drums, rumbling bass lines and the vocals go from the lowest growls to the highest screams. Our main influences would be the likes of Decapitated, Behemoth, Meshuggah, Enslaved and Job For A Cowboy
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We play mostly death metal but have a huge black metal edge to our sound, which is where our originality comes from. We are not a typical death metal band. As well as power, we create an atmosphere. We are a band people come to when they want something different when it comes to heavy music. It’s not a single style, it’s a combination of everything that we enjoy in our death metal, if you like black metal, tech death or whatever, there’s something in here for you. Our EP consists of 5 tracks, all ranging from 5 to 7 minutes long. There is no filler on the CD. We are immensely of every song and put our best efforts in to writing and performing them.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
To date, the only CD we have released is "Apotheosis". It was very well received and got excellent reviews. Metal Ireland gave it 4/5, stating "Dead Aeon are certainly ones to watch, if only because they’re letting their instruments really communicate. It’s dark and dystopian stuff, with some genuinely murky, almost Incantation-esque melody in their lines. That’s not altogether common, and marks the band out very far from the pack. Punchy and sinister sounding – immensely satisfying." Planet Mosh also gave the EP an excellent review, 9/10 " Dead Aeon simply destroy all comers with their brutally effective brand of blackened death metal. While obviously drawing influences from the likes of Behemoth, Decapitated, Cannibal Corpse and even progressive acts such as Opeth and Meshuggah, this 30 minute exercise in madness is guaranteed to rip the head off any metaller brave enough to come within striking distance." We have also released a music video for the track "Rise To Power", which was released a month ago and has received over 2500 views.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We play live as much as possible. Our gigs are usually in Dublin. Were always commended for our stage performance, attracting a crowd and giving it our all for every show.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
The band are good friends with some of the best promoters in Ireland, such as Fergal Holmes, owner of Dublin Metal Events, and Dan Flynn, who runs Poison Nightclub and Carnage Metalclub.
We are also good friends with Ciaran Tracey, who owns MetalIreland.com.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are currently gigging as much as possible to promote our debut EP. We are also working on our next release, which we hope to record sometime next year. We want to spread our music as much as possible and maybe even play some shows abroad.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
