Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
This is our debut album « Eschatonizer », an album that took us many years to complete, thousands of hours of hard passionate work. The result is as impressive as we expected – take the time to experience it.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
We play a mixture of scandinavian black metal and modern death metal, with a lot of elements coming for the symphonic music of the XIXth and Xxth century. Though, we avoided all the « hollywood-like » cinematic writing habits. Imagine the wedding party of Strapping Young Lad and Emperor in a nuclear powerplant, with the Titanic orchestra playing there ahahah. It can can appeal to every sophisticated and extreme metal lovers.
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
It was partly home recorded, but mixed by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Nightbringer, etc.) at Flatline Audio studio, Denver. The production took us one year and a half. It was long and harassing, it took forever. Dave Otero helped us a lot during all the process. Blood was shed on that debut, and we hope it can be heard.
We also have had the chance to record on « eschatonizer » the amazing performance of numerous guest singers such as Benjamin Nominet (ex-Sybreed), RMS Hreidmarr (Glaciation, CNK, ex-Anorexia Nervosa), Saint Vincent (Blacklodge, Vorkreist) and Sam Meador (Xanthochroid). Every effort has been made to ensure it to be a flabbergasting experience.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
« Eschatonizer » is richly illustrated by Paolo Girardi, Andrzej Masianis, Emilio Tabasco, Erik Burton Kirchner and Justin Si-Set Abraham. Every song has it's own illustration. The cover has been made by Paolo Girardi, his visceral paintings had a strong impact on us and we think he perfectly expressed the apocalyptic mood of the music. About the lyrics themselves, we think it's better to discover and read them while listening to the album.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We expect our music being listened by the metalheads, just as every band in the world.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
The album has been released as a cristal box CD, a digipack and a double gatefold vinyle (clear and black). On the digipack and the vinyle, there's a bonus track, a cover from Emperor's« With Strength I burn ».
