Please present your label, when and where was it started, who is involved in its activities and what genres are promoted by it.
Hello - greetings to all the readers. Well, Discos Macarras Records began as a personal project of mine at the end of  2010, when we wanted to release our first long play with MEMEST (the band in wich I play the drums) and seeing the difficulty of finding a label willing to bring onto the market our work I decided to venture on this activity.
I started editing Stoner, Doom and Sludge bands and I have a particular fondness for dark sounds, but I'm open to all kinds of music that smacks metaaal! The only essential requirement is that I like  it, ha ha!

Tell us a few words on each or the most important releases of your label, and which of them are still available for purchase.
The releases I'm most proud of are those in which I get involved with the band and the whole manufacturing process (Cabeza de Caballo, Evilhorse, Memest ...), instead of co-publications with other labels in which I loose many steps.
I have a special affection for the Human Waste / Obscure split, a 320 copies reissue on 180g vinyl and hand numbered. It contents two legendary bands, pioneers in the Spanish Death Metal scene, originally published in the '90s by Drowen Productions in demo tape format.
All my releases are still available, although the Memest CD and the Human Waste/Obscure Split are nearly sold out.

What are the most important features you look for in a band that is or has the chance to be signed on your label?
When a proposal reaches my hands I like valuing as a whole (themes, sound, and graphics). I like to hear a song for the first time and think that is the kind of record I would buy if it fell into my hands. I also value the relationship with the spokesperson I have in the band. Detecting a fellow feeling between us is very important to me.

How can a band get in touch with you? What should bands know before submitting their promos for your consideration?
The best way to contact Discos Macarras is by conventional email info@discosmacarras.com and attach at least two themes in good quality mp3 with the graphics proposal, so I can get used to the idea of a whole. I promise to answer all the proposals received, if only to say that I'm not interested in. As a member of bands I know how fucking annoying is to have no response when you send your proposals with such enthusiasm, so I avoid it 100%.

What's the most important thing in the relationship between you and your bands? What is your label offering to its bands?
Well, for me the most important thing is the relationship on equal and full transparency. The deal is very clear from the beginning. Normally, the band gives me the master and the artwork of  a particular release and I send them, in change, a percentage of the edits. After I try to promote the band within my means. In most of the cases we maintain regular correspondence and I try to see, at least, one concert of the bands that I edit in order to know the musicians personally, even though I have some unfinished business.

Is there anything you planned with your label and has not yet been completed?
For the moment, at this time my goal is to survive! Ha ha! I've been two years with this adventure and I sincerely believe that I carved a niche in the Spanish national underground scene. Let's see if this 2013 I get on it and I can make known abroad both, the label and the bands which have decided to release through Discos Macarras Records.

How does the future looks for your label? Any major projects you would like to share with us?
Things here in Spain are really fucked, we're experiencing a deep crisis and this seriously affects the whole music scene, but luckily most of us believe that music is a staple product, ha ha. Like I told you, I wish I could give more promotion to the bands and get some more ambitious editions (CD + Vinyl), by the time we had to decide for one format or the other. Time will come ...
