Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Hello to everyone, and thanks lml.
Well, it has been some years working hard in this project now celebrating 10. this is the 4th release and we have passed through many obstacles in order to achieve the present days of the band, including of course the fact that there are too many bands out there and there is no time or space for everyone.
This new EP is the result of that struggle, musically and professionally, you can find in the recording the passion, the intentions, the mixtures of genres, the melodies, the heaviness, the clarity and density, there is a lot of aspects of different sides. we wanted to quit some stuff from the previous albums, and begin to add more mature stuff and more definition, in the past we had a lot of variety but with a little messy on the genre and thats pretty tough to obtain, now i could say, well, i put some things on the table, this is solid and legible.
I know everyone in the band is very happy about the result.
The first song "In a trance with darkness" is passive but very dense, it talks about how in a dream a young girl saw the world in ruins, the role of the orchestra is really important cause it marks the conflict moments and there is a melody always in the song, a motif just 3 or 4 notes that gives the character of the song.
The second track "last day of the condor" is like "the song" of the Ep, always going forward with strong notes, strong attacks and fast, very fast.
It´s about our dying colombian Condor, the biggest bird in the world that is endangered, the character involves horns and metals as lead of the melody.
"Heavens to the ground" is a song we composed, Diego and i mixed some riffs, it is modern, kind of progressive and rude, this one is the most versatile about the style and it talks about religion, those extreme people.
The 4th track "The Currency Of My Empire" is diego´s song, its heavy and it has a very cool flow, very melodic with harmonies on the guitars, the chorus is very clear, reminds me sort of "Graveworm" which is a band i love, curiously diego likes more other kind of bands, we could expect more songs like heavens to the ground for example. But we wanted to sound just like that melodic, strong, memorable.
Last song "The Rebellion" is the point of transition, between what we were before and what we are looking for actually, this track closes "Stay Away from evil´s" episode, our last album from 2013, that is inclined more to black melodic, darkened death metal, whatever you´d like to call it, it doesn´t matter, what matters is the music not much the title.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
There is something new, the orchestra arrangements, i always wanted to add it, and now we done, we change the keyboards and effects for a heavy orchestra, its a huge transition, and of course there are some bands with that format so we could say you will be familiar to Septic Flesh, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Carach Angren, Dimmu Borgir.
I would like to describe it like the pivot, the balance between what i like the most, minor chords, density, melody, cool riffs, i also did an exigent task with the vocals, there was a time i was confused because its difficult to auto produce your voice in studio, now im more clear of what to do and thats important.
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
I recorded some guitars in my studio and the vocals, Didier traveled some days for the bass, it took us 1 or 2 days to record all the tracks, and i did the orchestra in 1 hour. Diego recorded Guitars in his studio, Red Spot, something funny is that we only could be together 1 day, because he lives in another city, so i took a plane to his studio and we composed 2 songs, i recorded drums and we did some videos. Then it took some weeks for audio and mix. i cant imagine what we could do living nearer to each other, we work very fast.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover artwork is brilliant, i was looking for an art that shows the world collapsed by the plague and by humans, so Sylvain from Razor Image, did this excellent job, its the mother nature became the plague with a dead forest and blood, very clear of what the recording is about, Oblivion is an isolated place called before, earth, our world, the planet we forget to take care of.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We expect that many people begin to be familiar with this music & style, we are doing steps forward and we need to achieve the next level, we need to be at least a semi-professional band.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
For global distribution we have digipack, maybe next year we release vynil, and for latin america there is going to be standard cd in spanish, special edition celebrating 10 years.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
Well we have some shows with vader, and next year with Aura noir and more bands, looking for more touring, and we have a lot of contacts for underground distro.
Where can we order it from?
You can find it in www.bandcamp.com/eshtadur order it digital, or physical.
