Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Thank you very much for the invite! The band was founded in 2012 as a trio and named Threesome, by Fred Leidl, Juh Leidl and Bruno Baptista. Some changes happened in the musicality and consequently in the formation, and now the band is Juh Leidl on vocals, Fred Leidl on rhythm guitar and vocals, Bruno Paulinetti on lead guitar, Henrique Matos on drums and Thiago Silveira on bass guitar, and was renamed as Freesome.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our style isn't well defined. You can notice it listening to our songs. You can identify some diferent styles, pure rock n' roll, hard metal, acid jazz, hard rock, blues, depending on the song. However, you can notice an identity in all that mix. That happens, probably, because of the diversity of our influences. We listen from Bach to Sepultura, from Coltrane to Led Zeppelin. Maybe Queen is a strong inluence to us, because they're a band that mixed up a lot of styles with no pudency. That's what we try to do. But the attitude makes us play rock n' roll. But I can sense a heavy feeling in all that we do, even when we're playing softer things.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
In our music you'll find honesty and attitude. We're not worried about pleasing anyone or follow any patterns. I guess that is something that a metalhead would appreciate.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We released our debut album in "Get Naked" in 2014. In 2017 we released the EP "Keep on Naked". In 2018 a cover for "Badlands" by AC/DC and in 2019 a cover for "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple, both for brazilian tribute albuns to those bands. All the releases were well accepted by the public/midia, with some isolated observations by some reviewers about the audio quality of the first album, which I agree. The improvement in musicality and audio quality in the next releases where both recognized by the public/media, which is great, and shows that we're on the right path.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We do play live, and we love it. Now we're in production process of our next singles, so we made a pause in the concerts to focus on them. But, probably in April we'll be back on the road.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Well, everyone that listens to our music, mainly in the shows, doesn't get indifferent. The audience usually gets quite interested in what's happening, and in the second chorus are already singing along. I think that's a good thermometer of how it would work with a larger distribution of our music.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We're producing our next four singles. In April we'll start the marketing work, and after released, we'll begin the tour.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
We're in most platforms (Deezer; Itunes; Spotify; Google play; Youtube), and you can buy our music and merch and on our website www.freesomerock.com
