Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
“Demonicon” is the crushing new album by Haiduk! It’s dark, fast, and full of insane riffs. I’m extremely satisfied with the result.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
It’s a storm of aggressive guitars and blastbeats. It shares some characteristics of the previous album- “Spellbook”, which was a mix of death/thrash/black, but this one is less thrash, more black metal and more technical.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
I recorded guitars & programmed the drums in my own studio over 8 months. Bass and vocals were recorded at Obsidian Recording Studio in Calgary, AB, Canada.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The album cover portrays 9 demons which represent the 9 songs on the album. The demons dwell in the volcano fortress Octavia, which is set within the realm of Callost; a fantasy world I’ve been developing for some time. The CD booklet contains a map of this world and excerpts of short stories relating to battles between demons and humans.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
The aim is to solidify the sound of Haiduk, to continue the aggressive approach of “Spellbook” but make it even more intense, even darker and more intricate, while exploring more unusual rhythm patterns.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
The CD best ties the theme, lyrics and music together. Alternatively, the album is available for digital download through itunes & amazon. The total number of copies pressed goes up over time as more CDs are distributed, so there is no final or exact number.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
Online promotion, radio shows, live shows, webzines, print zines, reviews, press releases….
