Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band started in 2014 when Mike and Ian had left their previous projects and wanted to do something that went straight to the point and paid tribute to the ways of the classic extreme metal bands. After a few months of writing and conceptualizing the music they started searching for a bassist and found Miles to be a perfect fit with his contributions to writing and helping the band take on the structure of dual vocals without a frontman
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We play Thrash with a touch of Death and D-Beat and are influenced by bands like Satan’s Wrath, Toxic Holocaust, Celtic Frost, Carcass, S.O.D, and Motorhead
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because it’s a DIY effort and independent, but mainly because it’s metal and metalheads like metal.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We recently released our debut self-titled album independently and, prior to that, we released a demo entitled “Crud” in 2015. Both have been well received and momentum has been building.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Generally a local show about every 3 months and we tour at least once annually.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We work hard to keep the vision on track and remain genuine, and attempt to make the music we want to hear. Our music is a reflection of our ideals and we strive to connect to those with similar idiosyncrasies.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Tour, continuing to play local shows, and writing our second album
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
The album can be purchased digitally or in CD in our Bandcamp page (hallux-gnar.bandcamp.com), and it’s also available in Spotify, iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon music.
