Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
KOPPER8 appears in 2006 in the Paris suburbs with Niko’s Southern / Thrash / Stoner influences. In 2010, a first line up begins to take shape with the creation of songs with French vocals growled by Tex. And since 2014, the line-up is completed with the arrival of Will (Overload) on the drums, Mouch'Owar (ODC, Maciste ...) on the bass and Steff (Anthéa, Stricke Back) on the second guitar.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We believe doing Thrash-Death Metal but many people like to say we bring some groove and stoner touch too. We do what we do the most important being happy and proud to do it. Each member come from different kind of metal but we can say our common bands are Slayer, Pantera, At the gates, In flames and so much more…
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
I’d like to say to discover French language that sounds very good in metal too there’s no only English. We try to made actual thrash death that deserve to be heard and buy or to support us and the French metal . So, just listen KOPPER8, now.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
With the new line up it’s the first album that we create together. An EP exist too released in june 2013 produced and released by Stef Buriez (Loudblast), and includes 4 titles (Requiem, Macho Blood, Amnesia and Innocent). Globally the public and media receive our music with great reaction that made us stronger to go ahead and play on stage to up some fuckin’ass.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes live is an objective for all members we love that and since the released of our album we are working on this point to make a great show for the people who come to see us. We played at the South Metal Fest, Hard Rock Café from Paris, Batofar, Divan du Monde and a lot of place near Paris. So, our live activity at the moment is pretty active, we are trying to made 1 or 2 shows a month but with our job sometimes it may be complicated.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We made a partnership with Dooweet in order to promote our music in foreign countries and see, where do you come from?! I’m trying to answer without being pretentious but we’ve already got different reviews through Europe and we’re proud to present our first album “ADDICTION”. All the people who listened our last released liked the French language in our songs and it’s one of our objective to export French metal.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
At the moment we are promoting our album “ADDICTION” doing shows, interviews and all stuff that permit us to gain visibility in France and foreign countries too. We’d like to make a new clip too and a new album in one or two years.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen it on : deezer, itunes, Spotify or buy “Addiction” on findie merch, season of mist, …..
