Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Machinergy started in 2006 with me (Rui Vieira, vocals/guitar) and Helder Rodrigues (drums). We both played in other bands in the past but now was the time to make a "real" band with albums and that kind of stuff. It's a lifetime project and we want to cross borders with our sound, we want people to listen to us, it will be worth of it! Nuno Mariano is the bass player and completes the current lineup.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I like the expression "mechanized thrash", I read it in a review somewhere. We blend some styles but the core influence is old good thrash metal. We listen to a lot of music, we all have the old school background but we really like some new stuff that comes out from time to time.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because he will listen to a good band with some fresh ideas and will see how we will grow up from album to album and maybe one day could be saying: "I was there from the beginning!".
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We released two albums ("Rhythmotion" 2010 and "Sounds Evolution" 2014), an EP and a documentary (both titled "Rhythm Between Sounds" 2012). In general, the music we make has been receiving some very good reviews (a couple others not so good but it's life) and we're "spreading the word" around the world. People starts to know Machinergy a little everywhere and that’s what we want right now.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, we play live with some frequency but try also not to be repetitive, playing week after week in the same places or venues. People get tired of bands who do this. We only played live in Portugal so far.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
They should know we are a hard working band, that we've been in the underground for many years and always in a DIY spirit. They'll see a band that will grow consistently because we do have ambition to do some remarkable records in the near future. So, watch out! You'll be hearing from us!
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are promoting the new album "Sounds Evolution" as best as we can around the world. We count with Metal Soldiers Records from Portugal and Secret Port Records from Greece that released our album this month of September and will assure worldwide distribution. Keep doing interviews and other stuff to show our band to the world is our main objective right now.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen or buy all our music in the following locations:
