Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Marchosias was formed in the winter of 2010-2011 following the fundamental lines of authentic Black Metal and we allowed ourselves to add the influences of the Post-Modern breeze of metal techniques and composition. Its founding member is Csaky, he was the one who gathered all of us under this name and the line-up was completed in the fall of 2011, presence of Morke sealing the our formation as colleagues. The name Marchosias bares a great significance, representing a Marquis of Hell, who was offered the possibility to rejoin God and his servants in the grace of the Heavens. He is the one demon whose story destroys the Judeo-Christian preconception of angels and demons, presenting the servants of god as great deceivers.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
The best word for our music would probably be "unique”. It’s a weird fusion of fundamental Black Metal guitar riffs and vocals and a lot of other subgenres. The reason we chose to call it "Experimental Black Metal” is because there was no other better way to call it. Hopefully, people who enjoy listening to our music and follow our activity will come up with a better name for this style. When it comes to naming the bands we were influenced by, it’s very hard to even name a few… Of course we were influenced by stuff we listened to, but it’s such a long list filled with great varieties that it’s hard to name even the basic ones.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Mainly because we can guarantee that it’s nothing he/she’s ever listened to before. Black Metal has made it to this point where it’s either taken way to seriously, either ridiculed. We tried not to follow the old recipes of writing Black Metal and we came up with this. I would recommend our music to all open minded listeners, and I include here everyone, from the True Black Metal fans to the uninitiated.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We recently released our first material. The E.P. is entitled "Above The Throne Of God” and it holds 5 songs, reaching somewhere about 23 minutes of Experimental Black Metal. The public, well all we can say is that if we wouldn’t have had the amazing crowd to support us on stage, we probably wouldn’t have released this material. The media was also very receptive, we had a very nice review in the 1st of September, the release date of the E.P. A great deal of shows will be coming up soon, promotional gigs for "Above The Throne Of God” and I’m sure we’ll get full support from the audience.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Of course, we’ve had a few gigs so far, but only between the borders of our country. Nevertheless, the audience was great and we sure hope we can keep it that way. However, November will meet us abroad…we’ll be performing in Hungary soon enough and we hope for the best.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
All people must know is that we’re here, and we’re here to stay. We plan to write music, play it and offer the Black Metal genre the freshness it needs.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We’ll be up playing as hard as we can, live performances, writing new material, probably even shooting a video soon enough. In short terms, we plan to promote our E.P. and then come up with a full-length album. Of course this asks for a great deal of time and work, but we’ll do our best.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
"The Sacred Book” is available online on our myspace (http://www.myspace.com/marchosias_band) and reverbnation page(http://www.reverbnation.com/marchosiasband), but not the full material. Our E.P.
