Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Well, the band started in 2012. This was the first real and serious band for each member at that time, so it took some time for us to start in a proper way. We started with a five-member line-up, with which we recorded our first work: the single “Brains In A Vat” (released in 2013). Then we welcomed Ainwen (female vocalist) and Hyde (keyboard player). This was the first step of an intense evolution of the band on both music and visual fields, that took to the release of our debut album “Creeping Time”.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Everything in our music is based on contrast, in particular a contrast between extreme metal (strong riffs, heavy drums, growl/scream vocals, etc) with symphonic/gothic metal (acoustic parts, melancholic atmospheres, epic orchestral arrangements, female/opera vocals, etc…). We define it “Light and Dark Metal”. The influences are many: from bands like Dark Tranquillity, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Death or Septicflesh for the extreme part, to Epica, Paradise Lost, After Forever, Arcturus and Draconian for the softer one.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
This is our first album, this is the way we show us to the world and the best way to first know our band. Moreover, this is a very genuine album, realized from an hard work lasted 2 years, without imposing us any restriction. For those who like our genre (but not only) may be really interesting to check our very personal point of
view on it. It is very balanced: surely heavier than a normal gothic/symphonic album, but at the same time more melodic and approachable than any extreme metal release.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far, after a single in 2013 and a demo track in 2014, the only real release is the debut album “Creeping Time” (released in 2016 under Maple Metal Records). We are really satisfied about how it was received by the audience both from who listened to the album, but also at live shows. It was great also talking about the media: we received really a lot of reviews from magazines and webzines with amazing opinions and scores. We surely didn’t expect it for a debut album, we are really stoked!
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, we really like playing live and the live shows are for us a big part of the band life. We try to add theatricality to our shows with the use, also, of stage costumes and face painting. We are really satisfied with our live activity, having opened for some bands like Fleshgod Apocalypse, Arcturus, DGM, Cadaveria, Opera IX, Whyzdom and many others! So far we played only in our motherland Italy, but we are planning to finally go abroad in 2017!
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
For now, the most important thing we want everybody to know is our new music. We worked a lot on it, to present an album about which we could be fully satisfied. Now, with that album on our hands, we think that labels and the press should be interested in it, because it’s surely our manifesto, the best way to first get in touch with our music.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
After the show we recently had in October with Fleshgod Apocalypse, we’ll take a little break to prepare some great surprises behind the scenes! We’ll release all these news at the beginning of 2017, so stay tuned! Some of them will be surprising!
