Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Our new release is entitled 'On Borrowed Time,' and is our second official release. This album is the product of many months of hard work and writing and a summation of the band as a whole.  Each song is a strong representation of My Hollow and is the product of many gruelling writing sessions. The album holds an even closer meaning to us as it was entirely self-recorded, self- produced as well as independently released, with only the mixing and mastering being completed third-party. We were very happy with the final release and can all agree that it is a proper representation of My Hollow.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Its easy to draw comparisons between one band and another,  but as a whole we like to think we have our own signature sound. We try to combine the feel of groove with the impulsive nature of progressive styles, all while keeping things aggressive.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
The album was tracked at our jam space, and bass player's home studio, and was mixed and mastered in Vancouver by Matt A. McKenzie at Kitchen Table Media.  The overall preproduction, tracking and mixing/mastering process took about a year from start to finish, with a few hiccups along the way. The one story that sticks out about the recording process definitely needs to be learning the value of backing up our projects! Sean's computer had crashed and corrupted the drive all the projects were saved under, forcing us to start from scratch after already completing about 60% of the process. We have since learned our lesson and now use external hard drives and employ a strict saving/backup schedule!

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover artwork was painted on canvas by Graham's fiancee, Jennifer White, a local tattoo artist with very obvious talent. She has done pretty much all of our artwork for several years now. The cover artwork plays off of the album title, On Borrowed Time. The picture portrays a youthful woman who is falling apart, with the youthfulness giving way to decay and she, like all of us are on borrowed time. As for lyrical topics ranging from mankind's self destruction (History of Violence), perseverance (Wade Through the Thorns), to a true story about Graham in the wilderness being hunted by wolves (Cold Dark Days).

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We expect to add to an ever growing  fan base, and have intentions on reaching further out to new venues, in new cities, and new countries. We are very confident in the album and hope that the music will speak for itself, and if our music doesn't capture your attention then our live performance will. We aim to be the best band we can possibly be, we are all blue collar dudes and we are not afraid to get our hands dirty.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
We have a few platforms in which the album can be heard, downloaded and streamed. The standard digipak physical copy, of which 1000 copies have been pressed, digital copies are available for streaming through bandcamp ( with a variety of digital format ranging from Lossless high quality to a more economical .mp3 lower quality format for streaming and mobile use.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
On Borrowed Time will be promoted through every medium, outlet, and forum possible. We plan on going full steam ahead with promotion through the metal community and make sure our name is known, and our songs are heard. All of our social media outlets are active and receive constant traffic and feedback. We also have a solid rapport with other local metal acts and venues, which in today's market can help make or break local acts based on reputation alone, so this is something important to us as we support local and independent music as individuals, and as a band.

Where can we order it from?
On Borrowed Time will be available for pre-order through Bandcamp ( until the official release in July 31st, 2015 when it will be available for streaming and digital download, with an option for a physical copy as well. Merchandise and miscellaneous accessories are also available through Bandcamp and our official website.  Make sure to follow us and keep up with My Hollow;
