Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
NOCTURNE started in the year 2006 when I wrote down first ideas of melodies, it all got more serious when Tenebris became a member back in 2012. From that point on our unholy alliance brought a lot of dark creativity which got manifested in our sold out first demo 'Nahash' in 2013. In late 2014 austria underground label Talheim Records re-released our demo as an remastered version. After finishing songwriting for our debut album sometime in 2014 we entered studio once again to bring our new hymns to the darkside to life. Now on 15th January, 2016 the releasedate for our self titled debut album was set by our new label UNLIGHT Productions, a division of DRAKKAR Productions, France. Our choirs of the left hand path will soon be also be heard live, therefor we have put together a strong live-linup and are working already on our live performace. Our first show ever will take place on the 26th March, 2016.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
NOCTURNE stands for epic Black Metal. Our style seems to be very unique because almost every song is based on melodies, choirs and clean vocals are featured sometimes.
It is hard to say what inspired me to do such music. Of course I have a lot of favourites like early DISSECTION, NECROPHOBIC, MORBID ANGEL, SLAYER, KREATOR as well as some 80s music like ULTRAVOX or DEPECHE MODE... I could list another hundred more. But I guess you cannot mix those mentioned bands together and the outcome would be NOCTURNE.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
As mentioned above we self-released our demo 'Nahash' in 2013, which sold out.
In late 2014 austrian label Talheim Records re-released a remastered version of 'Nahash' as a limited Digipak edition. This one is still available from us directly or the webshop of Talheim Records.
We also participated with one song on a free download compilation of Talheim Records, 'United Underground Vol.3', also downloadable from Talheim Records webshop.
Media reactions were very positive, as far as I know. But I have to admit that I am not following the opinions of others on NOCTURNE's work, because reviewing/rating music depends always on the musical/spiritual backgound of the reviewer.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We managed to put together a strong live line-up with experienced musicians. Our first show has been confirmed on 26th of March, 2016 and we are looking forward spread our darkness all over Europe soon.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are already working on new songs for the next album and of course our live presence is a big challenge in near future.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our sinister works on YouTube or our Facebook page as well as on Soundcloud:
