Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Well, it first started the band in 1989 when I was in high school. Nothing to do about what we are doing now! It was just for fun, like everyone does with their first band! We did three or four shows and after the departure of 2 members, the band have been placed on hold. Between 1990 and 2011, I mainly worked on another project named SLAOTVEAN. During that period, alone, I recorded the two first Ordoxe demos: Sorrick Ked Tho and Magnus Opus which never been pressed, for several reasons. In 2011, the SLAOTVEAN project came to an end so I asked some friends to join me to build another band. We choose to use back the name ORDOXE and together we made NIHIL in 2013, BEYOND MANKIND in 2014, MAY DEATH IS MY SHEPHERD in 2015 and this new one: TOWARDS ETERNITY.
Current Line-up is:
Steve DeCotret: Vocals
Jean-Francois Jalbert: Lead Guitar, Back Vocals
Samuel Landry: Guitar
J-D Bergeron: Bass
Dominic Dupuis: Drums

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our sound is evolving since the beginning. It started from raw kind of black metal, sometimes brutal, sometimes melodic, to more complex music. Through the different albums, we added some thrash, some doom and some death metal parts, even some rock! We don’t have limitation, we do what we want, what we feel to do, but always focusing to have the best results! We describe it as Extreme black/death metal.
I might say bands like Darkthrone, Rotting Christ, Enthroned, Satyricon, Dissection influenced us, but there’s a lot more like Anathema, Coldworld, Katatonia…and a lot of classical music, rock, even pop. By influences, I understand “that gives you the will to compose or play music”, not necessarily to sound “alike”. We always wanted to sound unique by doing what we wanted, not because it was supposed to be done “that way”!

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
I think we sound different and genuine. Been "open minded" means it is more accessible to everyone while being still brutal.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
2017 - Towards Eternity
2015 - May Death Be My Shepherd
2014 - Beyond Manking
2013 - Nihil
Our works is getting more fans days after days. Overall, we have really good reviews and the feedback from our fans is just great. It is really important for us because we do what we want and far as I know, we are on the right path.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Actually we are touring to promote our new album TOWARDS ETERNITY. And since 2013, we are doing like 30-40 every year, always on the road when we have good opportunities. We really like to be on stage and on the road to meet new fans/bands.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I guess our records and videos say it all! We are highly processionnal even if we're still very raw in our performances. We are hard workers and we'll do whatever it takes to be known by many as possible.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We will tour to promote till we will enter to record another album. Actually we are booking more shows for the summer/autumn and we're still looking for more. Touring Europe and United-States would be great! We are also planning a new video for the summer, to give another push to our new album.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff? - Actually our new album is free to listen on our bandcamp! And you can buy it right there! - This site is for our merch! Everything we have on tour is there for you to get. - This is our official video channel on YouTube. Everything we made is there.
