7:21 PMDAEMONICUS announce new Balkans tour
Daemonicus take revenge on the Balkans, together with Asphyx and Christ Agony
During winter early 2010 Daemonicus headed for a tour on the Balkans supporting Negura Bunget. The disaster-ridden tour contained a robbery and people freezing to death outside the of the accommodations, but did also let the band evolve as a live act to be reckoned with.
The noted robbery of the band's own van took place in Greece outside a "squat", i.e an area illegally (and by force) occupied by students. But this was far from the only misfortune to take place during the three weeks of touring:
• Cancelled shows after driving more than 1000 km on one night.
• Seventeen citizens (17!) froze to death during one cold night in the Transylvania area, with temperatures reaching 32 degrees below zero.
• A tour van with almost no heating, and later on without front window and rear view mirrors.
• A stolen passport, resulting in the driver being left in Greece while the band went to Bulgaria to perform a gig.
These were some of the setbacks and hard-earned experiences the Umeå-based band faced during the first time abroad.
Many might have suspected that yet another Balkan tour would be inconceivable after this, but as it turns out, this is not the case!
"Discussions about this already started at the last gig on the previous tour, just after all bad things had went down. We promised the awesome audience in Sofia to return.", says Per-Olov Wester, the band's guitarist.
Daemonicus claims revenge on these countries during the end of april, with at least eleven gigs to follow. A tour has been booked with Polish black metal veterans Christ Agony, and will also be supporting Asphyx on one of the shows. Both open air festivals and club gigs are among the dates.
"It feels fucking great being given the opportunity to tour these countries again. The dedicated audience, the raw atmosphere, it becomes a drug-like experience standing in front of such an audience", Stefan Hagström explains, the singer of Daemonicus.
"In retrospect we regard the first tour as perfect. Despite all mishappenings we learned how to solve all problems as a group and gained a lot of experience from it", Hagström continues.
One thing is for sure.
The recognized live act, Daemonicus, will not disappoint any death craving eyes or ears, especially not with songs from the upcoming album "DEADWORK" in the repertoire.
