ZOMBI: Complete Work On New Album, Unveil Album Art
ZOMBI has completed work on a brand new full-length album titled Escape Velocity. Escape Velocity, the follow-up to 2009’s Spirit Animal, was recorded in part by ZOMBI’s Steve Moore and A.E. Paterra in Pittsburgh, PA and Nyack, NY. The album was mastered by Denis Blackham (THE WHO, LED ZEPPELIN, WILSON PICKETT, KRAFTWERK) at Skye Mastering in Scotland. Escape Velocity is set for a May 10th North American release date and will be available on CD (pre-order here), LP, and digitally. ZOMBI’s Steve Moore commented on the new album; "I think the album came together exactly as planned, considering we had no plan. In fact I'm not even sure we knew we were making an album. Actually I can't remember at all. Anyway it's Jeremy's artwork that really ties it all together. Naked women, sports cars, mid-century modern architecture, space. The boy's a Shakespeare.”

ABYSMAL DAWN: ‘Leveling The Plane of Existence’ Streaming Online
ABYSMAL DAWN are currently streaming their forthcoming album Leveling The Plane of Existence in its entirety online now atMetalSucks.net. Leveling The Plane of Existence will see its North American release next Tuesday, February 1st, and is available for pre-order at this location. A deluxe digital version of the album, which includes four bonus tracks and digital booklet, is also available for pre-order at iTunes.

ROTTEN SOUND: Debut Video For "Self”
ROTTEN SOUND has posted a video for the track "Self”, taken from their forthcoming albumCursed, online now at thislocation. The "Self” video was filmed by Rami Kallio at ROTTEN SOUND’s show at Vastavirta in Tampere, Finland. The video uses the album version of "Self” that features guest vocals from VICTIMS’ Johan Eriksoon.ROTTEN SOUND has previously posted the track "Plan” fromCursed online via the band'sMySpace and Facebook pages.
Cursed will see its worldwide (excluding Finland) release on March 15th via Relapse Records on CD, LP and digitally. The CD is available for pre-order now at this location and a deluxe digital version that includes two bonus tracks and digital booklet is available for pre-order at iTunes. Cursed, the follow-up to 2008's Cycles, was recorded at Nordic Audio Labs. Lyrically, the 16-track album is themed around the six curses of mankind.
ROTTEN SOUND will kick-off a North American tour next week, touring as part of "The Finnish Metal Tour 2” featuring FINNTROLL, ENSIFERUM, and BARREN EARTH. This five-week tour begins on January 31st in Orlando, FL and concludes in early March in Raleigh, NC. ROTTEN SOUND will be keeping an active tour diary during the tour via the band’sblog.

REVOCATION: Begin Work On New Album; Record DEATH cover for Decibel Magazine’s Flexi Series
REVOCATION are currently recording their new as-yet-untitled full-length album at Damage Studios in Southbridge, Massachusetts with engineer Pete Rutcho. The follow-up to the band’s break-through Relapse debut Existence Is Futile is expected to see its release in summer 2011. REVOCATION(David Davidson: guitar / vocals, Anthony Buda: bass / vocals, Phil Dubois: drums, Dan Gargiulo: guitar / vocals) began the tracking process after their fall tour with DESPISED ICON and MISERY INDEX.
David Davidson recently checked in from Damage Studios with the following: "We are currently wrapping up the recording process for our 3rd studio album and we firmly believe that this is our strongest material to date. The songs on the new release are incredibly varied and all have the own character. They range from technical thrash to groove laden death metal, there's even a song with a full horn section this time around. We can't wait for people to check it out!”
Additionally, REVOCATION has recorded a cover of DEATH’s classic "Pull the Plug” track for Decibel Magazine’s monthly Flexi Series. REVOCATION’s take on "Pull the Plug” will be included in the March 2011 issue of Decibel, on sale in early February, and is streaming online at this location.
Davidson commented on the DEATH track; "We are extremely honored to be a part of the Decibel tribute to Death. Anyone who knows us is well aware that we're huge Death fans and we're very pleased with the way the song came out. R.I.P. Chuck.”
REVOCATION has recently announced that they will join legendary technical metal band ATHEIST for a handful of U.S. tour dates in March. FUCK THE FACTS has announced a number of North American tour dates to celebrate the band’s 10th anniversary. This tour will include dates in Quebec, Ontario, New York and an exclusive California show as part of the free Scion Rock Fest. FUCK THE FACTS’ set list for this tour will include songs culled from the band’s 10-year recorded catalog, including their forthcoming album Die Miserable. FUCK THE FACTS have been working on Die Miserable, their new full-length and follow-up to the Disgorge, Mexico album and self-released Unnamed EP, at the band’s home studio.
