Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
PashKhaal is the one who brought us all together. He wrote all the material with some wild dream of traumatizing every metalheads on earth and recruited musicians for his biding. We started to rehearse at University of Montreal’s music faculty, where most of us were studying. We got complaints from some teachers because our music was too loud and too violent. Still, some other teachers stood for us saying music was not a thing to be morally judged, especially by fellow musicians.
We recorded a demo first to be able to have something in our hands quickly, then the march for the full length started and here we are.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We once told ourselves that we were doing some “Black/Death/Power Thrash Metal” blend. Then our drummer responded saying we were doing “all metal”.
Influences goes from Strapping Young Lad to Mirrorthrone, from Judas Priest to Emperor, from Franz Lizst to Penderecki.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
If you have the means, you should buy it because we invested time, money, sweat, frustration and anger in this and now we have debts to pay. If you buy our albums, you will contribute to music being as honest as possible, Québec’s legacy of innovative metal bands and allow us to have a lighter burden to bear as we thrive to make something that will mark history.

You shouldn’t buy the album, download it, follow us on facebook, spread our material like it’s your destiny, give SOMETHING during our kickstarters, make pressure on the fans to come to our shows, to local bookers to reach out to us and when we make a show, offer us a place to sleep or food or alcohol and/or drugs. I don’t see how that would not be fair, on the contrary.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
A wide spectrum of reactions, going from “this is so refreshing and unique !!!” down to “I don’t understand what this crap is”.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Playing live is a ton of fun. We jump, smile, snork, raise middle fingers and wreak havoc, we just love it. Getting good gigs is hard though, there are so many, many
bands out there fighting for a spotlight...

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Basically that our music is unlike any other and won’t leave anyone indifferent (whether they’ll love it or hate it) and that our stage presence is as eclectic, arrogant and all over the place as our music, and won’t leave anyone indifferent either.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
First, we’ll find a new guitarist to pursue Archetype’s mission and purpose.
We started working on some new material, JanKristöfr Lebrave is joining creative forces and we’ll be experimenting some really interesting new features for the future.
New ways to approach rythms, melodies, and a more focused approach on the album’s general concept should drive us for our next adventure.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Bandcamp (tshirts are available there) ! Itunes ! Reverbnation ! We have a youtube channel ! Spotify !
