Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
I started out this project with a few demos in 2013/2014 which I only shown to a few friends. I worked on the songs from these demos and crafted my debut album “Rituals of the Damned” which was released digitally in February 2016.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
My style is just straight up Black Metal with a slight modern twist on things. The main influences for my music are the Norweigan “Second Wave” of Black Metal bands (Emperor, Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal etc.) but I am also influenced by a variety of other bands that aren’t even Black Metal (Type O Negative, Nirvana, The Smiths)

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
If someone is seeking a true Black Metal album that takes a classic sound and gives it a new lease of life, then Bathyum is the band for you.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far I have just released my debut album “Rituals of the Damned”. This was released digitally through Bandcamp in February 2016. A physical CD version of the album will be made available soon through Heathen Tribes records. Feedback so far has been very strong with Reviews being generally favorable and many comparisons made to Black Metal legends.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Currently Bathyum is a studio only project. There are currently no plans to play live but who knows what the future might hold!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Bathyum is a One Man Black Metal band from the UK fronted by myself, Wyvern. They should be interested in what I am creating as I have crafted some truly original Black Metal that has been compared to bands such as Satyricon, Immortal and Bathory.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
The main goal currently is to get the album out on CD. I have already started working with ideas for a possible new album but this in itself is in very early stages so I can’t really comment anymore on this.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
All of my music can be found on Bandcamp, Youtube, Soundcloud and Facebooks music player. The whole album can be downloaded from the Bandcamp link at:
