Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
This is Beldam's first full length release. Earlier this year, HOTA REX Records digitally released our 5 song demo with a very good reception. The full length incorporates a number of those songs and a few new tunes.  The basic themes of "Still the Wretched Linger" are revenge, hopelessness and despair.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
"Still the Wretched Linger" is a good mix of misanthropic blackened Sludge and Doom. We've created a wall of sound with feedback, buzz saw guitars, bone rattling bass and mammoth drumming backed by gritty, soul crushing vocals. Graves at Sea, Brainoil!, High on Fire, Meth Drinker, Black Sabbath and EYEHATEGOD should all ring through in this album.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take?
The album "Still the Wretched Linger" was recorded in an old cavernous basement that belongs to a family friend of the band. Huge open area with lots of exposed metal duct work and ventilation. It took nearly an entire day to record. We did all of the tracking in one sitting, something like fourteen straight hours. The process was grueling and we are proud of the end result.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The CD artwork was created by Stephen Kasner, who has also responsible for artwork for Sunn O))), Lotus Eaters and Skullflower. We talked with him for many weeks regarding what we wanted. The artwork was conceived based on Stephen's numerous listenings to the album. After many emails Stephen came to us with the idea of the cover, being this chimera goat monstrosity enveloping hopelessness. The feeling of despair dragging you into the next hell is exactly what we wanted.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We want to gain recognition within the metal community and get "Still the Wretched Linger"  out to as many people as possible. Beldam's aim at the moment is to continue writing new music for the next record. We also want to gig as much as humanly possible.

Is there a special format the material is released in or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
Still the Wretched Linger"will be offered in two formats: CD and MP3. We had 500 made on this initial run so the label and the band had plenty to sell at live shows or online. The album can be downloaded directly from our bandcamp

Where and how will you promote this new release.
We will be promoting this release with Clawhammer PR, who has already done a great job. Our label, HPGD (, will be promoting the work as well. Much of the promotion will be online and hopefully with some print and video.

Where can we order it from?
You can order "Still the Wretched Linger" directly from our bandcamp and our label's site
