Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Blerthrung is a 2 piece act from Melbourne, Australia. We came together in early 2015 to create black metal after playing other genres of music for a number of years. Our members are Dikotomist (guitar, keys, bass, vocals) and Rragrathorgh (drums, vocals).

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We describe our style as a blend of classic 2nd wave and depressive black metal. Our influences include acts such as Thy Light, Emperor, Darkthrone, Opeth and Leviathan among others.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We think our music conveys a cold, hateful, depressive mood, while still offering some musical variety and interest to make listening to one of our albums an engaging experience.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far we have released (independently) our debut album BLINDVEI, which has been received surprisingly well. We have been very pleased especially with the reaction from overseas in areas such as Eastern Europe and South America. As an unknown act from Australia with few contacts in the metal industry it was incredible to see how quickly this kind of music can travel around the world.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We do not play live. Our main aim is to continue to write and release music which will evolve and show a range of influences while still retaining a cold black metal vibe. Playing live would hinder our ability to constantly write and record new music.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are a brand new act with what we believe to be a strong debut release. We think our music can appeal to black metal purists as well as fans of other styles of metal.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are in the writing stages of our second release which is intended to be another full length album.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to/buy our music and merch all on our Bandcamp page.
