Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Danny Knight:
...and it was all history from that point on. Hello, I’m Danny Knight, vocalist of the band CROWN OF EARTH. I’m proud of this band and I hope that you appreciate our efforts as well. Please remember COE as one of the great bands in metal history. I like to tell people that we are very influenced by all the great heavy hitters of the metal past.
Crown of Earth started out as a couple of guys trying to put a band together in the basement. Michael Ellis (Guitarist for COE) and his best buddy for many years, Nikki Shannon (on Drums) had some songs together and they needed a lead guitarist to lay down some solo’s on a track called Pile Driver ( find it on Crown of Earth’s debut CD release ). They somehow got in contact with a friend of mine named Christopher Graziola (Lead Guitarist). They met Chris and they tracked the song the very next day. Well, it went over so well that they decided to continue jamming together.
Time went on and Christopher kept asking me to check out a project he’s in called Megalon. You know that creature that fought with Godzilla? I’ll tell you about that some other time. Well, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to get into a band at the time. I just wasn’t feeling it, but Chris asked me enough to finally convince me to check out what he had going on.
I finally made it over to Mike’s house in Norhteast Philly where Megalon was rehearsing and I jumped into a couple of songs. I really liked what I heard so I decided to keep working with them. We built up a good team and everyone was on the same page. That’s pretty hard to find.
I called in a friend on bass, Matt Harrigan and we rehearsed and recorded the self titled debut album, CROWN OF EARTH . I really hope you enjoy it because we’re all very proud of it.
Due to scheduling constraints and conflicts, the decision was made to bring in MarkyZ on bass to cover the live shows. Shortly after a few drummer hiccups and a number of drummer changes, we finally landed our current, and best drummer around, Vinny Corrado.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I would say the main bands would be Metallica, OZZY, Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera, and Queensryche and I would even say some Killswitch Engaged as well as even a little Pink Floyd mixed in there.
Danny Knight: Basically we’re all on the same page when it comes to our musical influences. They pretty much stem from all the hard hitting, timeless artist in Rock and Metal history. A lot of the influence comes from the (NWOBHM) movement in the 80’s. However, our drummer Vinny Corrado has a more modern metal musical influence brought to us by bands such as: The Black Dahlia Murder, Killswitch Engage, Death, Within The Ruins and such.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Metalheads should buy our CDs because our music is modeled after the heavy hitters in the metal community and our music I believe will stand the test of time and be loved by many generations to come!
Danny Knight: Yeah… What he said ^ : )

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Danny Knight:
In October of 2016, Crown of Earth released their self titled debut album: CROWN OF EARTH.
You may also find a video of Born Again Warrior which seems to have grown into a dedication to the United States Armed Forces, particularly for Veterans with the song: Born Again Warrior. We have over 150,000 views of our video which tells me that it's pretty well accepted and as for our debut album, I haven’t heard one bad review about it yet! Thankfully! Whew.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
I would say that when we perform live it’s always a great experience for the listeners and fans because we have been told many times that we sound like our recording on our CD live!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Danny Knight:
Music business professionals should really take a hard look at Crown of Earth and see the potential we have as a band that can do great things. We are in a position to make this band a real business. Hence the term “music business”. They shouldn’t overlook us. We are dedicated to our craft and have a decent working knowledge of how to do this thing called Rock ‘n’ Roll. There’s a billion and one bands out there but only a few can rise to the top. I really feel we have what it takes.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are starting out by putting together a mini North American Tour and if the demand becomes heavy in Europe we will have to gear up for a European tour as well in the near future.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Crown of Earth can be heard on hundreds of Internet and FM stations worldwide as well. Everything you need to know about the band can be found on our website because there are links to everything as well as merch to be purchased from the band on our site!
Danny Knight: I’ll add a bunch of links at the end of this interview where you can find more info regarding
everything Crown of Earth!
