Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
"Pictures of the Void" is Despot's brand new EP, and the follow-up to 2013's acclaimed LP "Satan in the Death Row". This is our first album as a duo. The music you'll find in "Pictures of the Void" is an original and varied amalgamation of our Metal influences. We are very happy with the results and firmly believe these are our best songs yet.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Our music is Black Metal without prefixes, suffixes or additional qualifiers. However, though we worship the absolute classics of the genre, I wouldn't say our music sounds like anything you've heard before.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
It was recorded in Sao Paulo, Brazil and mixed and mastered in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The EP took two months to record and an extra month for production, mixing and mastering.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover is an original artwork by a very talented artist from Belo Horizonte, André Persechini. He also did the cover for our last album, "Satan in the Death Row". It features the face of a goat, in a homage to classics like Venom's "Black Metal" and Bathory's debut. However, the goat has several mutations, deformities and other grotesque elements. This reflects how our music is obsessed with the Black Metal classics of yore, but filtered through our own twisted and bizarre vision. The cover reflects the music more than the lyrical themes.
Our lyrics are very personal. We explore many themes, like the inevitability of death, man's egotistical and romantic vision of the universe, the triumph of science over mysticism, the disease of nihilism, etc.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
This release is a landmark for us. We really believe it demonstrates our potential for creating a fresh and original take on Black Metal. Our goal is two-fold: we want more people to hear us and we are also on the lookout for labels that are willing to sponsor our future records.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?

Where and how will you promote this new release?
