Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
This is the fifth GD release, our third album. The last one had a very raw sound but this one has a bit more sophistication whilst retaining an early underground goth sound. We are very happy with how it has turned out.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sound like anything we might have heard before?
It has similar vibes to Fields of The Nephilim but mixed with Sisters, Type O, Bauhaus maybe
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
The whole thing was recorded and mixed in three days for just over 400 quid. This time we went for a different drum sound with our drummer using two sets of drum machines with pads played with sticks instead of his normal acoustic kit. We had no money left after this but our kind fans pre-ordered enough copies to pay for manufacturing.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The artwork is taken from a photo I took of a butterfly. The album has a lot of lyrics about cults and I suppose a butterfly from a Chrysalis is like freedom from the cultic lifestyle.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
To get heard and to be able to continue recording and gigging. That takes money of which we have none!
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
Digitally of course but also glass mastered CD in digipack. The release date is 15th Oct.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
Anywhere and everywhere within our power.
