Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Khôra was formed around 2012-2013 by Oleg (myself), that's when I started working on the material that can be heard on the Demo which was released independently in 2016 by Sepulchral Silence Records and Depressive Illusions Records.
After moving and settling in Ireland, I started writing new material again from 2017, this time for a full-length album, this was around the time when Kranos joined the band on Vocals.
As the debut progressed, Lars from Dødheimsgard joined on the bass guitar and this is the current line-up which I’m very happy about, Kranos and Lars are really talented musicians.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Each song can sound different but to really generalize, I’d say Atmospheric Black/Death metal, our influences are:
Oleg: Emperor, Mayhem, Bloodbath, Thorns, Dødheimsgard.
Kranos: Emperor, Burzum, Mayhem.
Lars: Ved Buens Ende, Code, Virus, Wardruna, Hexvessel.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Our music is fresh and I believe is unique, one song can be a proper black metal song, and another can be slow and groovy death metal, basically there’s variety, even within songs.
What have you released so far?
So far we only have a demo released in 2016, currently we’re looking for a label to release our finished full-length debut.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
I live in Ireland and am looking for a few live-members to fill-in the guitars and maybe start gigging within Ireland to start with.
Kranos lives in Greece and Lars in Norway so they are the band members when it comes to studio albums and all that has to do with the music composition ideas etc...
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Start gigging locally first and start working on the next album.
